Mostly because I can't imagine our family without Gracie in it.
We've settled in quite a bit in the last month. I just can't get enough of staring at that pretty face, or kissing that sweet-smelling head, or nestling with that cozy snuggly girl. What a gift.Speaking of gifts, Grace and I know some pretty talented people. This arrived yesterday from George.
Like a promise that warmer days will eventually arrive. The daytime highs have been not too far above freezing this week, which is about ten degrees below normal (so says the weather guy). That makes it even tougher to get out of the house with a new baby. Vaughan was born in December, but that year was so mild... the day we brought him home (also, incidentally, the day he was born) it was 60 degrees.Chris happened to be home yesterday, and he fetched the package at the door. As he came up the stairs he remarked, "It says 'biscuits' right on it!"
"Is it from Australia?" I asked.
"Yup."
"Yum," I said, because biscuits from Australia can only mean one thing... a replenishment of the Tim-Tams stash. Thanks, Georgie!! She also sent some great books for the boys. Our collection of Australian stories is getting pretty impressive.
I never did show these. My sister made Grace some shoes.
She used this pattern (PDF link). Cuteness all around. And now I need to write in Grace's baby journal and let her know how happy she has made me over the past month. And then I'll go stare at her some more while she sleeps...

She looks so sweet and very curious. Aren't we parents such lucky, lucky people?
YES!
It arrived! George is sewing up a storm at the moment.
Gracie is just perfect.
I also can't believe it's been a month! And she looks a lot bigger already too!
Nice gifts - that George, she's a good egg.
A month already? Wow.
Would your sister make me some shoes? Those are simply fabulous. Love the flower buttons.
She is a beauty, Graces are just wonderful, aren't they?
Already??? What a cutie! I swear, she looks different just from the last pictures. Crap, how time flies. I'd stare at that pretty little face all day too. :)
You can't believe it? I can't believe it!
Having seen that dress Georgie made for your Grace, I can attest to it's beauty! And double bonus with the Tim Tams I say.
Grace is so beautiful! You are one lucky mother to have her.
She is beautiful - looks long as well - or is that just the camera angle? :)
Such a cutie! And I love the presents, too - what great work!
Look at that sweet face. Awww. Maybe I will be lucky enough to meet her around Christmas.
Isn't it funny how it seems that she has always been there?
She's gorgeous, already looking like herself. I loved to watch my babies. I STILL love to watch my "babies", amazed that such wonderful young women are my daughters.
